We’ve been asked to attend a few events in both the City and South Cambridgeshire to show and talk about our Cambridge Hotlogs – clean burning waste wood briquettes.
We’ve been making our Hotlogs using equipment supplied by Cambridge Wood Fuel Ltd. They’re made from the clean wood we can’t reuse, which would otherwise be recycled. By processing it ourselves into premium quality waste wood briquettes, we provide valuable local employment in the green economy.
Unlike the majority of producers of biomass briquettes, we are producing our Hotlogs to the HETAS Quality Assured Fuel standard. This requires us to have a Quality Management system in place to ensure no contaminated material or excess moisture is in our Hotlogs. We also have to have our Hotlogs independently tested to ensure they met or exceed the HETAS standards.
Cambridge Hotlogs can be used on open fires as well as in wood burning stoves.
Some of the advantages of Cambridge Hotlogs:
- 0.8% ash – less means a lot less cleaning
- 4.49kWh heat output – burns much hotter than firewood
- density 1.1 – much less storage space needed than firewood
- 12.5kg bags – easy handling and better value
