Chicken Coop made from Cambridge Wood Works reclaimed timber

Ray sent us these great photo’s of his Chicken Coop project:

Hi, I bought some wood back in March to build a chicken coop. The coop was completed in July, and the chickens followed shortly afterwards. As promised, I now have some photos for you! I should add, the frame was built with the wood from yourselves, although the box and the featheredge board wasn’t from yourselves, as I live in Norwich and it isn’t always easy to get to Cambridge.

The photo’s speak for themselves…

the foundations

base plate made from 4x2" reclaimed timber

Framework in 4x2" timber going up

Quite a big frame...

that really is a big chicken coop going up there...

now for the roof...

simple but effective corrugated iron roof

Now for the accommodation- made using OSB (Sterling board) and ply

Looking like a luxury chicken coop...

painting / treating the timbers...

..and then the cladding and final painting

just needs some mesh now...

no idea what this bit is...

and there's the mesh...

...and there's the chickens!

That's all folks!
