Between January 2010 and October 2015, Cambridge Wood Works CIC, the environmentally friendly social enterprise, diverted over 2,000 tonnes of waste timber from landfill through either re-use or specialist wood recycling. This has saved more than 950 tonnes of CO2.
CWW helped its business clients to be more efficient and effective with their recycling methods, encouraging them to work with suppliers to reduce timber waste and save money in the process.
CWW also made a difference in the following ways: providing jobs and volunteering opportunities for local people; running a waste timber collection service for businesses, especially construction sites; encouraging and helping people to save money and consider the environment, by using affordable, reclaimed timber for small-scale home and garden DIY projects; running an in-house workshop to make log stores, compost bins, picnic benches, bird and bug boxes, all using reclaimed timber.
Directors of Cambridge Wood Works CIC would like to thank the many friends and colleagues, clients and partners, numerous loyal customers and advocates who have supported the enterprise, as well as those who have discovered us more recently.
As we’re winding up the enterprise by the end of Nov 2015, we’re disposing of remaining tools and equipment before then. Follow this link to see if there’s anything you may be interested in buying, before it’s all sold…
