Here’s some photo’s of @MandyPrintmaker‘s recent decking project –
First a solid base is made using reclaimed 4″x2″ timbers from Cambridge Wood Works. The idea is to make a structure like floor joists to support the decking boards that go on top. It’s important to make sure the joists are properly fixed together and well supported (to stop them sinking into the ground).
The decking boards are then fixed to the joists running at 90 degrees to the joists
And there you have it – a stunning addition to @MandyPrintmaker‘s garden, alongside the raised pond – an earlier project using reclaimed wood form Cambridge Wood Works.
And don’t forget to make use of these leftover bits of wood to add some decoration to your new decking!
